“Where it all began…
In 1964, John Noel SR opened Grand Valley Sport & Marine. It was a small business located on the iconic 28th ST in Grandville, MI. In the early years, John and his partners began with a small inventory of snowmobiles, boats, and sporting goods. As business increased, the inventory followed suit. The building began to expand accommodating brands such as: Sea Ray, Four Winns, Ranger Bass Boats, Maxum, Quantum, StarCraft, MirroCraft, Obsession, Checkmate, Bandit, Caravelle, Sylvan, Stingray, and many others. Other locations opened across Michigan in Lansing, Benton Harbor, Nunica, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Grand Rapids, and more. Like Many other businesses in the 1980’s, Grand Valley Marine fell into tough economic times and was forced to downsize. Many locations were closed and 2 remained. Our Grand Haven and Grandville locations. We then bought Alden Marine and Sport in 2018. The iconic 28th ST once held 13 boat dealerships and we are the last one standing till we closed that location and moved up to our Alden location.
